The Secret

As as avid believer in science I think people should read this article on the newest, "self help book", touted by those such as as Oprah. Then decide if you think it is constructive help.

I am using the law of attraction to think of these people being eaten by bears.

I'm typing to myself.

I know that there is a strong chance that no one cares about foreign affairs like I do, but there are two stories you should pay attention to.

1 The US militarys hand over of security to Iraqi forces. I think republican on nearly every matter of foreign policy but this stinks of Vietnamization and the Nixon Doctrine, which were doomed policies and make Nixon look like an idiot.

Read about Vietnamization and the Nixon Doctrine here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vietnamization#Vietnamization_and_American_Withdrawal.2C_1969-1974

Read the article about US policy here
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15946832/

2 Iran's President wrote the American people a nice letter. It would be a mistake to trust this mans intentions as anything other than self-serving, and his lack of attention to the plight of people in his own country is also interesting.

your kidding right?

Apparently Syria is now really concerned with Americas time table in Iraq. Read about it here. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061119/ap_on_re_mi_ea/iraq

The third paragraph mentions that Iraq and the US think Syria isn't doing enough to stop the flow of foreign fighters into Iraq. If we were handing out awards for journalistic use of dramatic understatement this would have to be in the top 3.
Allow me to give a brief background on insurgent activities in Iraq. There are two kinds, the death squads that round up and kill people for their faith and ethnic persuasion. This is the sunni/shiite conflict that is often said to be on the brink of civil war. The other form of insurgency is Arabs coming into Iraq to fight Americans. It is this second kind that Syria is passively supporting by letting anyone waltz across their border and into Iraq, and it is these people who are directly targeting American troops.
Last week I read an interview with an Marine who did a tour in Iraq and he said the whole time he was fighting there he only saw one or two Iraqi insurgents the rest were foreign arabs. There is a river of foreign terrorist coming into Iraq, they come in small streams from around the arab world but all meet in Syria.

Syria is not doing enough and now they want us to leave. Why? To create a power vacuum and let run things like they do in Lebanon?

I have an aunt who recently moved to Baghdad. She has worked in the region for about 4 years and knows alot of people in alot of places. Often she sends emails of press clippings of things you wont see on CNN this is one of them. If you cannot read the text is says that this little girls family was killed by insurgents. She was shot in the head but recieved medical treatment at Camp Balad, however she has trouble sleeping and often cries uncontrolably. The soilder is an Air Force Master Chief, and he has a knack for calming the little girl down. The past seven nights she has slept in his lap. American media shows you only what they want you to see.
